User Reviews

Reviewers consistently praise ibis Paint for its easy-to-use interface, a wide and high-quality brush/tool set, and strong value that suits both professionals and hobbyists. Many note that the app is feature-rich and reliable for long-term use. Common drawbacks center on brush management limitations (slots and import caps) and the desire to add audio to animations. Occasional UX frictions and subscription concerns are mentioned but less frequent. Overall, ibis Paint is viewed as a versatile, capable art app with room for improvement mainly around animation audio and brush handling.

  • Extensive library of brushes and tools with high quality for its price.
  • Good value for money; premium edition is worth it.
  • Suitable for both professionals and hobbyists.
Cons
  • Brush management limitations: limited brush slots and brush import limits.
  • Animation lacks audio support / users want audio in animations.

To preface this, I’d like to say I’ve been using this app as my main digital art app for YEARS. I bought the paid version on all my devices and have purchased membership multiple times to access features such as 20GB cloud storage for the 100s of artworks I have. That said, I recently got an iPad to use for art, all this time I’ve mainly been using my Samsung phone. I bought membership on my phone so that I could sync all my artworks and download it all on the iPad so I could work on them here. While doing the syncing and attempting to import my settings, I realized my account didn’t have premium on the iPad but that my phone did. After a quick search and trying to restore purchases, I found out that the membership doesn’t sync across android and apple devices. I find this so incredibly beyond stupid. This isn’t one of those apps where it’s tied to your App Store (like the paid version of this app for example), it has an entirely separate account and cloud system. If I purchase a membership for my account, that should sync across all devices that are logged into that account, regardless of platform. I did eventually end up buying the membership on here, but to say I’m severely disappointed would be an understatement.
