User Reviews

Users repeatedly praise the Wahoo app for solid sensor integration, automatic Strava uploads, a clear UI, and free basic use. However, the dominant feedback centers on reliability and data integrity issues: workouts often don’t save, uploads fail, and Bluetooth connections with devices are flaky. Data can become corrupted or mis-timestamped, and updates sometimes complicate workflows. Overall, the app has strong core features for indoor tracking and sharing, but reliability and stability across uploads and device connections are the main pain points.
Pros
  • Strong sensor integration with the bike setup and automatic posting to Strava, reducing manual entry.
  • Free version provides useful features and value without requiring a subscription.
  • Clear, easy-to-read mobile interface with straightforward controls.
  • Reliable cadence and heart-rate tracking when sensors are properly paired.
  • Good cross-app interoperability, enabling data sharing with Strava and other apps without extra effort.
Cons
  • Major reliability glitches and inconsistent performance; workouts can fail to save or upload.
  • Frequent Bluetooth/device connection issues requiring repeated re-pairing (Kickr, HRM, cadence sensors).
  • Strava and other uploads often fail or require repeated retries, increasing frustration.
  • Data integrity problems after saving (incorrect duration, timestamps, or corrupted data).
  • App updates can add extra steps or degrade core functionality, reducing overall ease of use.

When it works it is great; how ever, I am on my second bike and third set of handle bars. The controls keep going bad. I have had the kicker bike for a year and a half. To wahoo’s credit they replaced the bike or the bars under warranty

This app is annoyingly sub par. I’ve had Wahoo for a long time now, and looked forward to using the new Bolt. Once I set it up, which seemed to take way too long compared to the Element App, this one has been not as good. The Element App was more intuitive, easier to set up, and the computers allowed you to turn off segments on the fly. This one, you can’t, and when you close the app you get an ANNOYING POP UP each time telling you to leave the app running. Why would I leave it running when I’m not even using my computer? It’s cheap, it’s annoying, and I’m seriously considering going to Garmin because of it.
