Features & Capabilities

IveGot1 enables in-field reporting of invasive animals and plants in Florida. Built on EDDMapS, it lets you submit observations with location data and photos, even offline, and uploads when you have a connection. Real-time maps help show distribution and drive faster verifications.

This extension is part of a Florida outreach campaign developed by the University of Georgia's Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health, in cooperation with state partners. It aims to simplify identification and reporting, with resources like a project website and a toll-free hotline for immediate reports.

User Reviews

Users praise the app’s design, informative content, and field-friendly features, especially for Florida. However, recurring issues include crashes on startup and during photo uploads, limited media options (no multi-photo uploads, camera uploads limited), unreliable map/GPS functionality, and confusing data flow (where reports go and how failed uploads are handled). These common themes show strong potential masked by stability and UX problems.
Pros
  • Well-designed, visually appealing UI with informative content.
  • Field-friendly reporting with easy map pinning and area drawing.
  • Florida-specific content with pictures and common names to aid identification.
  • Positive overall usefulness and potential; praised as a great idea.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and startup/opening failures.
  • Media/upload limitations and flaky handling (no multi-photo support; can't upload from camera; crashes when selecting photos).
  • Map/GPS input reliability issues (GPS required but maps may not load; location reporting can fail).
  • Unclear data flow and navigation (where saved reports go; where failed uploads go; back navigation returns to the main map).

The app is nice to have but when filing a report you can’t see anything. No roads no terrain nor a landmark on the map, if the app offered a satellite mode it would help a lot

Used to be a great app now you can hardly even work it, requires more complex passwords for everything on there now as well Return it to how it was (user friendly)

First time using this app and it’s really well done. However, there are no directions on how to add a species
