User Reviews

Users praise Pages for ease of use, Word compatibility, cross-device access, and feature-rich options for capturing ideas and planning. However, multiple reviews cite stability problems (crashes/slow), saving and file-location issues, syncing glitches after updates, confusing UI changes, and concerns about ongoing subscription costs.
Pros
  • Easy to use (works well after a short learning curve).
  • Strong Word compatibility: converts/imports Word documents with ease.
  • Cross-device accessibility: works across Apple devices with good ecosystem integration.
  • Feature-rich with many options and strong control for advanced users.
  • Great for capturing ideas, planning, and diary-style notes.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes, freezing, and slow performance.
  • Saving issues: no Save As feature and unclear where files are saved or how to locate them.
  • Syncing problems after updates or due to using the separate Pages app, causing sync errors.
  • UI changes and moved controls that make navigation less intuitive.
  • Subscription pricing and ongoing costs pushing users to seek alternatives.

It’s good I gave it five stars. You can use it for keeping track of numbers and you can use it for important stuff like your diary.

I was excited to use the updated Pages, only to be disappointed again on how simple things, like changing the color of a highlighted word now require me to watch YouTube videos on how to do it. Really? That is where we are at in 2026. Steve Jobs would be so disappointed. Make it the program intuitive and easy to use. Go back and look at how Apple used to do things. Look at the history of when Steve Jobs asked his software engineers to allow his computers to burn a CD and they gave him a huge 600 hundred page notebook and he said no, start over and it ended with a program and a button that simply said “RECORD”. Start over with this product and show Microsoft what a good word processor should look like. Get back to the basics.
