Prepware ATP can be a handy mobile supplement with a broad bank, explanations, and updates, but is hampered by outdated/incomplete content, buggy study features, inconsistent question quality, and limited support. Use it alongside other prep materials rather than as your sole ATP study tool.

Pros

Helpful for passing the ATP knowledge test when used consistently.
Convenient on-the-go study with a large question bank and subject-area organization.
Clear explanations for answers.
One-time purchase with regular question updates.
Wide variety of questions and test formats similar to the real CBT exam.

Cons

Content is outdated and incomplete for the ATP; many real questions are not in the app and FAA changes aren’t fully reflected.
Study mode and progress tracking are buggy: questions/answers can't be saved or reviewed reliably; marks can be lost; diagrams/legends may be missing.
Question quality can be inconsistent: errors or mismatches with the actual exam; not all questions are correct or current.
Limited support and feedback options; responding to issues can be slow or unhelpful.
Performance/compatibility issues on older devices or OS versions.

Recent reviews

Used this software for instrument, commercial and CFI and it worked for me. I found that about 95 to 98% of the questions were that same. However, don’t use it for ATP. I found that about 40% of the questions similar but the rest were totally different. I was doing 97 and 98% with the practice tests using this software consistently over 10 times doing it, and I struggled with the ATP test (passed it but 10 points below the national average). So do not recommend this software for ATP. I learned my lesson.

Bought this to study on the go and also had Gleim’s book to review. There’s so many questions on the test so it helped me get in extra study time. I did take a while in the test and scored 93. I’d say it’s useful to use with another study material. Didn’t check back to see how many questions were not on the test. Only complaint was the font on my phone but that’s a decent trade-off.
