User Reviews

Users praise Iris for its low fares and practical value for riders without cars or in areas with limited transit. However, the service is plagued by delays, missed pickups, inaccurate ETAs, and poor communication between drivers and riders. Coverage is uneven (North KC limited). Customer service and refund processes are frequently criticized, and some riders report unprofessional behavior or unsafe pickup/drop-off points. Overall, Iris is affordable and helpful but inconsistent and frustrating for many users.
Pros
  • Very affordable fares, often cheaper than Uber/Lyft and offering good value for money.
  • Provides essential mobility for work and errands, especially for people without cars.
  • Helpful in areas with limited transit coverage or no bus service.
  • Positive driver interactions and professional conduct in many experiences.
  • Some riders rely on early-morning rides and find the service available when other options aren available.
Cons
  • Frequent delays and drivers late or no-shows, leading to long wait times.
  • Inaccurate ETAs and poor communication about pickup/dropoff; drivers may arrive late or miscommunicate location.
  • Limited geographic coverage, with North KC and other areas having little or no service.
  • Customer service issues and refund problems, including rude staff and slow/unclear refunds.
  • Safety and professionalism concerns in some rides, including unprofessional drivers and unsafe pickup/drop-off points.
Recent reviews
I get it’s a cheap/more accessible app for rides but having people wait 10-15 mins for drivers to come and usually theyre late and only wait 1 min, I was walking to my ride, less than half a street, they left, I got a ride again times are tough, I was next and they picked up another ride when I scheduled my ride hours ago, got a text “sorry for the delay” only to wait another 20-30 mins after the 10-15 for ANOTHER ride, honestly only use this app when walking is too far or weather is bad, never got a refund or a free ride from waiting MULITPLE times

If you live anywhere other than North KC there’s no service.

It’s been a helpful alternative to the bus and Uber/Lyft
