User Reviews

Users praise highlighting/notes and TTS accessibility, plus mobile reading convenience. However, they repeatedly report major drawbacks: readability barriers (tiny fonts, narrow margins, no zoom, hard-to-view tables/figures); clunky navigation and scrolling; sign-in and stability problems; Inkling migration/layout frustrations; and missing features like more fonts, robust annotations, search history controls, and reliable flashcards.
Pros
  • Highlighting and note-taking features are useful for study and revisiting notes.
  • Text-to-speech/voice reading and built-in accessibility tools improve readability.
  • Reading textbooks on a phone is convenient and accessible.
  • Fast access to content and generally solid e-reader setup.
Cons
  • Severe readability issues: narrow margins, small text, no pinch-to-zoom, and tables/figures hard to view.
  • Cumbersome navigation: scrolling rather than paging, end-of-chapter figure placement, and constant back-and-forth to see images.
  • Sign-in and app stability problems: login frictions, crashes after iOS updates, glitches.
  • Migration/content layout problems from Inkling: misaligned figures, sections hard to reach, overall layout feels clunky.
  • Missing features and controls: limited font sizes, limited annotation options, inability to clear search history, and flashcards issues.

The navigation through topics is treamlined but sometimes with glitches ending up with jumping pages when in the scroll mode. I also wish if there was an underline and annotation function that I can visually see on the page without having to open a dialogue box
