Features & Capabilities

MTD Connect provides two on-demand transit options: SafeRides Connect for safe rides within designated boundaries (maximum three riders per pickup) and West Connect for curb-to-curb trips connecting outlying areas to fixed-route service.

Trips are planned in the app and the service operates where fixed routes do not. Note: SafeRides is not emergency transportation to medical facilities and does not serve bars. For questions about SafeRides, West Connect, or MTD’s fixed routes, call 217.384.8188 or visit mtd.org.

You can call a safe ride when it’s late and it sits at one spot not picking you up when you actually need a safe ride when buses are not available. However, when buses are available it comes available. The drivers are also rude and give attitude when it comes to giving safe rides.
