User Reviews

User feedback largely praises the Utah State Parks app for replacing a physical pass with a convenient digital version and for easy entry at parks. Many find it helpful to store an annual pass on their phone and use it while traveling. However, reliability issues are frequent: on iOS the app may fail to launch or load passes; some report difficulty downloading passes, and others can’t complete digital-purchase or add passes due to link errors or data mismatches. Some critics cite cluttered UX. Overall, convenience is clear, but reliability and usability require fixes.
Pros
  • Convenience of storing the annual pass on the phone for easy access and peace of mind.
  • Seamless park entry when presenting the digital pass at the gate.
  • Easy to use and informative about state parks while planning trips.
Cons
  • iOS reliability issues: app won't launch or fails to load passes.
  • UI issues prevent downloading passes (download button unusable, keyboard blocking).
  • Problems with purchasing or adding digital passes (order links, data mismatches).
  • App UX clutter noted by some users; suggests a simpler digital-wallet style solution.

Used to work well enough for displaying my pass but now the app won't launch on iOS. Works fine on my Android device.

This app was great for a while, but now it no longer will load that actual passes.

Once you get your information in, the app is really helpful as you move from park to park. Unfortunately, downloading your pass, using anything other than the barcode on the physical pass is impossible to do as you can’t click the download button. The app designers didn’t drop the keyboard out of the way, so it’s useless.
