Features & Capabilities

POWERlink Suite enables wireless OBDII tuning and diagnostics through a Chrome extension connected to the POWERlink OBDII Dongle via Bluetooth. Tuning capabilities include octane adjustments, live gauge monitoring, diagnostics, and more, all from the palm of your hand—no laptop needed.

Important notes: Requires a POWERlink (V4) OBDII dongle and tuning software from Integrated Engineering (iE) or Xodus brands. Mobile support is unavailable for VW MK5/MK6 Gen 2.0T or 2.5L (includes 3C, B6, 8P, 8U, and 5N chassis) and may require a Windows laptop for full functionality.

User Reviews

Users broadly praise the app for ease of use, mobile tuning from an iPhone, built-in safety features, real-time gauges, and perceived power gains. However, recurring issues include risks of bricking ECUs/TCUs during flashing, connectivity problems, update-induced failures, model compatibility gaps, and concerns that claimed horsepower gains don’t always align with real-world results. These reliability and transparency concerns appear across multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Easy to use on iPhone with step-by-step instructions (even described as something a child could do) and no laptop needed.
  • Built-in safety features to prevent engine damage during tuning.
  • Real-time monitoring through the app, including gauge display, code checks, and data logging.
  • Mobile tuning with stage options and the ability to select fuel options and hardware upgrades.
  • Reported immediate power and performance gains from stage tunes, contributing to a positive user experience.
Cons
  • Significant risk of bricking the ECU/TCU during flashing via the app, with cars failing to start and difficult recovery.
  • Connectivity and pairing issues (e.g., scanning errors, cannot connect) that prevent successful use of the tuning features.
  • Updates sometimes cause flashing to fail or remove features, leading to errors (e.g., 100% flashes) and workflow disruption.
  • Compatibility issues with certain VW/Audi models and a lack of clear transparency about which models/tunes are supported, leaving some users unsure.
  • Marketing claims of high horsepower gains often conflict with real-world results, and perceptions of limited or no free retunes/support when performance falls short.

For someone that new to the self tune culture tuning my 2019 B9 s4 was a breeze. I mean I did the whole thing in 30 mins with my iPhone! Step by step instructions so simple and easy that a child could do this. It has built in safety features so you don’t blow your car up lol. And did I mention you can do it from your phone! Customer support is S Tier. Very responsive and Informative. I’m enjoying my stage one tune on E85 and I would definitely recommend it to my peers.

I have been in the car business since 2003. I have dealt with all the major brands. By far for highline the best bank for your buck is Audi. My opinion IE has been a godsend. I appreciate all their hard work and effort to maintain OEM standards while getting the best out of my Audi. My next car will be a Porsche. And I can’t wait to see what IE will do for that car. Happy tuning everyone.
