Review summary

Users mostly value Skyward Companion as a progress-tracking tool to reach 100% and locate missed items, plus niche content like gratitude crystals. However, the app lacks an in-app map, has accuracy and wording issues, and offers limited guidance for new players, making it less ideal as a general gameplay guide. Some recommend alternatives for regular play; it’s best for experienced players seeking 100% completion.
Pros
  • Excellent as a progress checklist for tracking game progress.
  • Helpful for 100% completion and finding items I missed.
  • Contains niche content like guidance on gratitude crystals.
  • Overall useful for Skyward Sword fans and provides useful insights.
Cons
  • No in-app map; repeated across multiple reviews.
  • Accuracy issues: grammar/spelling errors and incorrect quest notes.
  • Not beginner-friendly; guidance assumes familiarity with the map.
  • Missing features like play-by-play and a comprehensive chest/map view.

2023-02-10 fs***** I wish it had a playbyplay and a map Other than that there are a few errors like it says that Oriel’s quest isn’t available until you complete Oriel’s quest and it should say Kukiel’s also divine shield only says that you need a sacred shield to make it Other than that very good app

2022-11-05 Na***** I’ve been using this app pretty heavily the last few days in order to help me track my progress as I’m trying to 100% the game. It’s great if you are familiar with the map and have a good understanding of the different locations. However, if someone were to try and start the game while using this as a guide, I don’t think that would work well. There isn’t a map in the app, and even the little bit of guidance you do get isn’t very helpful in some situations. Simple mistakes like saying an eastern island vs a western island can (and did) lead to a bit of frustration. Also, there are some pretty simple errors in grammar and spelling in the app that also detract from the overall experience. With a little bit of attention through an update, this really could be an excellent gameplay companion. That being said, it did successfully help me collect several items I had missed during my initial play through. If you’re thinking of getting this app to help with you quest to 100%, go for it. If you’re thinking of getting this app to help you with normal gameplay like beating bosses or how to collect mainline items, you’re probably better off going with an IGN guide or something along those lines. Best of luck. - Nate -
