User Reviews

Users praise Maestro for being intuitive and fun to use, great for quick composing and experimentation, plus mobile friendliness. However, recurring concerns include missing swing timing options, playback that ignores standard notation forms, limited instrument and percussion options, occasional clunky or unresponsive UI on devices like iPad, and ads/ticket flow impacting the experience. Overall, it’s a solid mobile composing tool for quick ideas but lags behind full notation apps in swing, playback fidelity, and instrument variety.
Pros
  • Easy, intuitive, and fun to use for composing.
  • Quick to write music and great for experimentation.
  • Mobile-friendly and convenient for on-the-go composing.
  • Intuitive and versatile, with flexible note placement options.
Cons
  • Swing rhythm support is missing (no swing eighths) and swing timing can't be enabled.
  • Playback does not follow standard notation rules (missing D.C./al Coda behavior).
  • Limited instrument and percussion options available.
  • UI can feel clunky or unresponsive on some devices (e.g., iPad).
  • Some stability/feature concerns reduce usability (e.g., ads and ticket flow affecting experience).

I really enjoy this app but my only gripe is how limited the midi instruments because after that, you have very little instruments to use. It’s also because I like using all of the instruments but can’t put them into one song because of the limit.

Ten out ten for sure. Enjoyed making things. Though I don’t understand the ticket thing and struggle to figure out how to add instruments
