Review summary

OM Image Share offers remote shooting/review and handy mobile access to camera information, but suffers from reliability and feature gaps. Users highlight frequent connectivity problems, limited functionality (no AEL/video), photo import failures, single-camera registration limitations, and a confusing firmware update process. When it works, it provides useful remote control and data at a glance, yet the app’s reliability and scope of features keep it from being consistently valuable.
Pros
  • Remote shooting and reviewing photos from the OM camera via the app.
  • Mobile access to camera information and settings (e.g., statuses, data) in the palm of your hand.
  • Overall convenience when the connection works, with some users noting the app as fun/easy to use.
Cons
  • Frequent connectivity issues: slow performance, frequent disconnections and hangs.
  • Limited feature set: no AEL, no video, only basic remote control; missing advanced controls.
  • Import problems: photos not appearing in the app and importing can get stuck.
  • Poor multi-camera support: only one camera can be registered at a time (or must re-register per connection).
  • Confusing firmware update flow: missing update option in the app and a flow that depends on camera Wi‑Fi vs internet.

2026-06-11 st***** I have EM1mk2. Want firmware update. Tried Mac app first. Wanted me to restart Mac in recovery mode to install extensions after already giving all kinds of permissions. Not happening. Tried this app to update. Does not work with EM1mk2. Total waste of 30 minutes and now another 30 to debug my Mac to remove all this scamware that was installed and undo the permissions. Already deleted this so from phone. I will definitely never buy another Olympus product. Total fail. What happed to just downloading a file to the sd card and running the update like my Sony & Fuji cameras do

2026-05-27 jo***** The latest update asks users to agree to the new privacy policy. But, the buttons on the screen are inactive, so you can’t get past that point and the app is unable to be used at all. Even uninstalling it and reinstalling it didn’t help.

2026-05-25 LR***** For the new update, many of us were struggling to get past the acceptance screen at the beginning. I found a workaround- click the privacy policy hyper-link, and accept all cookies. When you return, the agree button is enabled. You will then have to reconnect your camera as a new device, and then everything seems to work.

2026-05-21 mr***** The app is OK, generally speaking. Useful but lacks features. But the recent update broke the app entirely because I am unable to accept the new, and what I assume is a ridiculous and one sided privacy policy.
