User Reviews

RTC OnDemand is praised for affordable fares, convenience, accessibility, and friendly drivers. However, repeated concerns about reliability, limited geographic coverage, and booking flexibility hinder the experience. Availability can be inconsistent, especially for spontaneous rides, and cancellation policies add friction. Overall value is strong where the service operates, but reliability and coverage remain the key drawbacks.
Pros
  • Very affordable fares (often around $2), cheaper than Uber
  • Convenient and easy-to-use with smooth booking and generally fast rides
  • Accessibility for riders with disabilities / paratransit support
  • Friendly, professional drivers
Cons
  • Reliability issues: delayed pickups, late/early drops, and inconsistent schedules
  • Limited service area/coverage: primarily in the far southwest; expansion requested for other areas
  • Availability problems: hard to get a ride unless you book ahead; on-demand availability can be unreliable
  • Cancellation policy friction: limits on cancellations and mandatory prefilled reasons
  • Drivers may pick up multiple passengers, causing delays and longer trips

Depending on this app for transportation is absolutely terrible

Main reasons why it’s a good app, you can get a ride wherever for 2 bucks and call it a day. However, what I don’t like is when you schedule a ride, and for some reason it’s delayed, it could take over 30 minutes for you to be picked up. When you have work, that’s simply not an option. It’s not right to wait over 30 minutes when it’s a scheduled pick up time, and let’s say you cancel it, if you cancels rides too often due to this then they limit how many you can book in a week. How’s that fair to the rider? Other than that, the app is easy to use and the drivers themselves are great people. Maybe buses should have more maintenance so it’s easier for both the drivers and rider.
