Overview

Features & Capabilities

Seabourn Source is a Chrome extension that lets you log in with your Seabourn account to access your profile, view past or upcoming bookings, and review guest services, events, and shore excursions. Before you sail, explore an interactive fleet map showing ship destinations, and connect to onboard Wi‑Fi to view menus, spa services, and guest chats without needing to purchase internet.

In port, check your daily itinerary, book shore excursions, and see tonight's dining menu. Use Herald events, chat with traveling companions, and manage your account and onboard statements all in one place. The full Seabourn fleet—Sojourn, Quest, Ovation, Odyssey, and Encore— is supported across ships.

User Reviews

Overall, Seabourn Source is seen as a promising cruise companion with on-board features like restaurant menus, itineraries, and excursion bookings. However, reviews repeatedly cite login/authentication failures, crashes or the app not opening, reservations not showing or syncing across attendees, and content issues such as outdated menus and incorrect data. Usability problems (navigation, small text) and occasional battery drain are also noted, along with VPN/security concerns. The app requires substantial stability, accuracy, and UX improvements to fulfill its potential.
Pros
  • On-board usefulness: restaurant menus, itineraries, and excursion bookings.
  • Positive concept/potential as a cruise companion appreciated by some reviewers.
  • Some users find the app helpful for planning before and during sailing (when it functions).
Cons
  • Login/authentication failures and frequent errors.
  • Stability issues: crashes, app not opening, and battery drain.
  • Reservations not showing or syncing across attendees (dining, spa, excursions).
  • Content accuracy and update problems: outdated menus, incorrect data (e.g., onboard credits), and lack of real-time ship information.
  • Usability/navigation problems: hard to navigate, dead ends, small/ unreadable text.

Who built this app? It’s abysmal. It doesn’t handle passkeys correctly so instead of using one, it creates a new one every time. It’s just not good.

The new look of the app has us less excited. We loved the countdown (274 days 10hrs and 52 minutes until…) which is still there, but in a much diminished way. We also loved the ability to check out “tonight’s dinner menus” That would get us talking about some of our favorite dishes, etc. And now we can’t find anything except basic info about our upcoming voyages. Perhaps once we board the ship, the updated app will prove more useful. Although we were some of the people that NEVER used the app whilst on board. We loved opening The Source in the days and months before our voyage to get excited about what’s to come. Sigh.
