Paceline: Rewards for Exercise Apple

Paceline: Rewards for Exercise

Health workout reward app

Features & Capabilities

Paceline: Rewards for Exercise Chrome extension helps you stay motivated to move by offering gift cards and discounts for reaching weekly activity goals. The program targets 150 minutes of elevated heart-rate activity per week and partners with wellness brands like Daily Harvest, Hyperice, and Alala.

It works with popular wearables—Apple Watch, Garmin, and Fitbit—and uses HealthKit to read activity data while keeping your health information private. Your data will never be sold to third parties, and the extension roadmap includes even broader tracker support.

User Reviews

Reviewers praise Paceline's historic gift-card rewards, calendar tracking, and social motivation, but converge on several pain points: rewards have become devalued or scarce, redemption costs have increased; data syncing failures cause lost streaks and frustration; useful features like the calendar and friend-tracking have been removed or weakened; device integration and tracking accuracy are inconsistent; and account/login issues with support add to the dissatisfaction.
Pros
  • Tangible gift card rewards (e.g., Amazon, Starbucks) that provided real value and motivated continued use.
  • Calendar-based workout tracking and monthly progress review that helped users reflect on activity.
  • Social features and streaks (seeing friends' minutes and participating in challenges) that encouraged consistency.
  • Donations to charitable organizations as rewards offer a feel-good option for some users.
Cons
  • Rewards have narrowed or devalued: key gift cards removed or replaced by less-desirable options, and redemption costs have risen.
  • Data syncing issues leading to missing days and lost streaks, with reports of slow or unhelpful customer support.
  • Updates removed or degraded features users relied on (calendar view, friend-minute visibility, social challenges), plus confusing UI changes.
  • Reliability problems with device integration and tracking (difficulty syncing with devices, inaccurate exercise minutes, inflated leaderboards).
  • Account/login problems (repeated prompts to recreate accounts, login difficulties with Apple ID).

But since it’s gotten rid of the gift card option, I’m going to delete it. The options it offers to redeem points for do not have any options that work for me or dietary restrictions.

App used to have great rewards. Amazon gift cards were amazing. Now the rewards are like 5% off a retailer you wouldn’t ever have purchased from which is less than buying from the actual website and including shipping making you pay MORE for something you don’t want. This is not even worth it.

I’m a long time user of Paceline. Please bring back in calendar view the ability to see which days of the current week have been exercised on without having to fully click into the week. I want to please be able to open the calendar and see via a symbol on the calendar day if I worked out on a certain day or not. Bringing this back I think would help a lot of people feel more positively again about the app. The main use of the app for a lot of ppl is that calendar view and the ability to look at the calendar and see which days were worked out for the week and which days weren’t.
