User Reviews

Reviewers are split. Some praise Tex Pro as portable, lightweight, and useful for LaTeX work, with an Overleaf-like feel. However, many reports focus on reliability issues: the app crashes or locks up, the cursor jumps to the end, edits aren’t saved and PDFs don’t reliably update, and cloud-sync (Dropbox/Drive) can fail. Package management is problematic (missing sty files). Some call it buggy or a scam. Overall, reliability and cloud integration are the main concerns, though a few users note good usability and speed.
Pros
  • Portable LaTeX editor with an Overleaf-like feel.
  • Lightweight and fast / responsive.
  • Generally useful for LaTeX work and valued by academics.
  • Some reviewers note good usability and frequent use of the app.
Cons
  • Cursor jumps to the end of the document during editing.
  • Crashes or locks up, making editing difficult and risking lost work.
  • Edits and compiled outputs don’t always update or save reliably.
  • Cloud-sync issues with Dropbox/Google Drive (files greyed out, sync losses).
  • Package management problems (missing sty files / unavailable packages).

I can’t seem to get any packages to work. All it does is say that it’s looking for the sty file. I’ve tried \usepackage{suppose} and \usepackage{verse}
