User Reviews

Users broadly praise Being Me for its journaling prompts (morning, evening, freestyle), strong goals/habits tracking, and daily inspirational quotes, all within a private space. Many report transformative, healing benefits and a simple, focused way to build routines. However, recurring issues center on data reliability (streaks and entries sometimes disappear or misdate) and pricing transparency (unexpected charges). Some also dislike notification tone. Overall, the app’s core value is clear, but reliability and upfront pricing improvements are frequently requested.
Pros
  • Journal prompts and versatile journaling options (morning/bedtime prompts plus freestyle entries).
  • Integrated goals and habits tracking that makes progress visible and motivating.
  • Daily quotes and inspirational content that feel relevant and supportive.
  • Strong privacy and a sense of a personal, confidential space for reflection.
  • Transformative impact on well-being, clarity, and momentum in personal growth.
Cons
  • Streak and data reliability issues (streaks can drop, entries can disappear or be misdated).
  • Pricing transparency concerns (unexpected charges; unclear upfront costs).
  • Notifications can come across as condescending or off-putting for some users.

I was looking for just a plain journal and found this app. It has a lot of nice and inspiring features. This app service still has some privacy concerns, but it doesn’t look like I’ll find much different, elsewhere. Or maybe I just didn’t understand what I read. The app has a lot of features that I like, but there are so many features that are all over the place that it feels noisy and confuses my mind when I look at it. If there was a way to contact the designers, I’d request the ability to turn some of it off, maybe have it accessible by a side menu and not all over the place. I’d also like to add some features like being able to add / sync workout results or dietary results, and maybe even some other stats from the Health app automatically into a journal entry. Or even apps like Strava.

I love everything this app has to offer. It has journal prompts. It has morning and bedtime journaling prompts as well as freestyle journaling, as well as quotes to get you through the day and it’s completely free. I love everything this app has to offer.
