User Reviews

State: Breathing is praised for its simple, beginner-friendly design and short, effective exercises for anxiety, but users report recurring audio bugs, stability issues, and billing problems. Many want HealthKit integration, longer/customizable sessions, and mindful minutes export. Price/value concerns persist, and support responsiveness is a recurring complaint. Overall, strong core concept with reliability and feature gaps to address.
Pros
  • Simple, clean UI that isn’t overwhelming and is beginner-friendly.
  • Short, quick breathing exercises that fit easily into daily life.
  • Effective for anxiety and mood management; calm and distraction-free.
  • Minimalist design keeps the focus on breathing.
Cons
  • Frequent audio/sound issues and metronome glitches requiring restarts.
  • Subscription billing and login problems with slow or no support responses.
  • Bugs and instability after updates (timing issues, black screens, crashes).
  • Perceived high price relative to features; value concerns.
  • Missing features and integrations: HealthKit export, customizable durations and patterns.

So for the pros: AIf you want simple exercises for specific moods, they have A. Be Present B. Wake up C. Feel Alert D. Recover Quickly E. Feel Calm and F. Fall asleep and that’s it, nice and simple, other apps could be overwhelming so if you want simple this is it B. Great for beginners, it doesn’t over complicate things or gives you too many options, good if you’re just getting into it C. With how short the exercises are, makes it easy to start incorporating breath work into daily life And that’s about it, it’s NOT A BAD app, but I’ll get to the cons Cons: A. Even if you do get overwhelmed with variety there are other CHEAPER apps that offer these breathing and more. I’d say this is an app that’s worth maybe 15$ for what you get. B. Could never get the sound to work C. I don’t think it ever adjusted the breath for me, I even did the test again and it was a bit better and it was all still the same D. Exercises seemed TOO short, if they could add a customization to make exercises longer that’d probably be a good addition. Overall it’s not a horrible app, it’s probably a small hardworking team, but the price compared to competitors and the features available make it a no for me as a more experienced breath work user. It seems like it was made for beginners or those who get overwhelmed with choices. It’s not bad but also not worth 30+$

It asks for DOB info, but you can’t go beyond the date that it’s currently set at. It’s bug that could have been easily avoided.

Every breath work and mediation app I’ve ever used is over complicated and overwhelming. The UI is clean and simple. The exercises are quick and effective. Found what app I’ll be using for some time to come.
