Outdoor AL for iOS shows strong UI design but is hampered by frequent reliability issues, including loading failures, login and license display problems, and broken check-in/out flows. License purchasing and data syncing also appear error-prone. A few reviewers praise the clean layout and weather feature, but the overall experience is inconsistent for mandatory tasks.

Pros

Nicely laid-out UI with fluid navigation between screens.

Frequent loading issues: the app often fails to load, crashes, or shows blank/white/black screens, hindering access to check-ins, maps, and licenses.

I have tried to pay for a fishing license for two months this app wont load and when it does it says sorry something went wrong.

The basic function of apps that require logging on to use properly usually offer a signup option right underneath the login option. This app for some reason only gives the option to log on as if I should have already had an account before downloading.

I have used this app for many seasons checking in and out on public land in years past with no issues. This yr 2025 specifically, I’ve had constant issues with the app not loading properly for check ins as well as not loading the “where to hunt” WMA maps. It will say “Where to hunt” not available. I will have to close out the app and then try again. Sometimes it takes doing this several times to get into certain pages on the app. It has been VERY BUGGY this year. Considering the importance of using this app for following the check in procedures as well as having access to licenses, this seems like something that needs to be address asap.
