User Reviews

Users repeatedly report that the soundcore app struggles with core tasks: unreliable pairing/connection, a bloated 600MB+ size, and intrusive AI features with privacy concerns and ads. Compatibility with newer iPhones and BT features is also problematic. Some limited positives note basic setup and firmware updates work for certain devices (like Boom V2), but overall sentiment is negative due to reliability and privacy concerns.
Pros
  • Basic functionality and initial device configuration can work for some users.
  • App provides firmware updates and device configuration in one place for certain devices (e.g., Boom V2).
  • Some users find basic usability sufficient for essential tasks in specific scenarios.
Cons
  • Unreliable pairing/connection with speakers and headphones; recurring pairing failures and reconnect issues.
  • App is bloated and storage-heavy (around 600MB), consuming significant device space.
  • AI features and translations raise privacy concerns due to data collection and increased data sharing.
  • intrusive ads/coin promos and overall data harvesting perception within the app.
  • Compatibility issues with newer iPhone models and BT features (e.g., LDAC, device recognition) leading to features not working as expected.
Recent reviews
I bought Soundcore earbuds expecting to use them like any normal Bluetooth product. Instead, the app forces you to agree to data sharing with third parties before you can access basic features like EQ, controls, and firmware updates. There is no opt-out inside the app — it’s accept or lose functionality you already paid for. This is not okay. Hardware features should not be held hostage behind a data-sharing agreement. If I wanted a product that monetizes my data, I would have bought one knowingly. Until Soundcore separates app functionality from third-party data sharing, I cannot recommend these products. One star.
