Features & Capabilities

Arsenal Remote is the world’s first intelligent camera assistant for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. When paired with Arsenal’s ultralight hardware, it gives you complete control of your camera from your smartphone, up to 100 feet away.

In Smart Mode, Arsenal’s machine-learning algorithm analyzes your scene and selects smart settings using 18 environmental factors. For full creative control, Manual Mode turns your phone into a wireless remote with shutter, aperture, and ISO, plus a live preview and remote trigger. It also automates advanced techniques like HDR exposure stacking, focus stacking, and timelapse, and works with dozens of Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fujifilm models.

User Reviews

Reviews are mixed. Many praise Arsenal Remote for its feature set and iPhone integration, and for good support when issues arise. However, frequent startup crashes, firmware/update crashes, and inconsistent Wi‑Fi connectivity hurt usability. Compatibility with iOS updates and the need to be near the unit for reliable operation are recurrent negatives. Overall, it’s a powerful tool in theory, with strong potential, but reliability and setup friction are the main barriers reported by multiple users.
Pros
  • Feature-rich tool for photography with time-lapse preview, stacking modes, and focus stacking.
  • Strong iPhone integration and versatile controls that enhance mobile photography workflows.
  • Responsive customer support experiences (notably Tyler) that help resolve issues.
  • Improves photography workflow and results, saving time and enabling more advanced techniques.
  • Overall great concept and potential; many users praise the product when it works.
Cons
  • App often crashes on startup or won’t open, including after firmware upgrades.
  • Unreliable connectivity/pairing with iPhone; setup frequently fails and Wi-Fi connections drop or are hard to establish.
  • Compatibility issues with iOS updates and firmware updates causing crashes or unavailability.
  • Poor or unhelpful online documentation/manual, making setup and troubleshooting difficult.
  • Proximity requirement and inconsistent performance; users often must be very close to the Arsenal for reliable operation.

app will not open

I have come to yet another roadblock where the app here doesn’t work with iOS updates and it seems since they now have a version 2 out all the original owners are no longer a focus. Cannot get answers as to why the app crashes every time I attempt to open. Seems like money wasted.
