It supports easy connections via QR, NFC, or manual entry, and lets you transfer full‑resolution RAW (or JPEG) files, change shutter settings, and use intervalometer modes. With a polished dark theme, intuitive UI, and features like landscape/portrait aspect switching and GPX geotagging, Camrote is designed for both beginners and pros to capture great shots from anywhere.

User Reviews

Users praise Camrote for strong remote control, cross-brand transfer, and macro/stacking capabilities, including Fuji/Leica support and direct iPhone transfer. However, recurring connectivity problems, uneven camera compatibility, and transfer reliability issues dominate feedback. Some users also report intervalometer instability. Overall, benefits are clear when it connects, but reliability remains the main concern across reviews.
Pros
  • Wide camera compatibility across brands/models (Sony Alpha lines such as a6000, a6400, a7ii, a7iii, etc., plus Fuji/Leica) with easy transfer
  • High-quality direct transfer of photos to iPhone
  • Full remote control including adjusting camera settings (ISO, shutter, timer) and remote shooting
  • Macro/stacking capabilities for macro photography
Cons
  • Unstable/unstable connections with frequent drops, long delays, and connection failures
  • Inconsistent or limited camera model support (some cameras like A7IV, A7R5, A6000 lack support; occasional failure to find/connect to cameras)
  • Transfer reliability issues (images not transferring reliably; reports of partial transfers or low success rates)
  • Intervalometer not working smoothly or reliably in sessions
Recent reviews
I gave it one star in my last review because of connection issues it had and then forgot about it, without realizing it got an update. Everything I complained about seemed to been solved and I’m very pleased that I came back to install it again. The only issue remains is the intervalometer not working smoothly- one would need to hit the retry button to continue a session. Thanks, author!

im a frequent star photographer. last night i went to an area with little to no light pollution, and it took a while to get there. there was no service, of course, and when i went to start taking photos using the intervalometer function (that i have paid for), it said i didnt have it purchased. i didnt have cell at the time so i could not fix it. also instead of intervalometer, it was saying timelapse? it was very frustrating because i usually take upwards of 300 photos to stack, but had to do it manually and didnt have that amount of patience. im just confused on why this happened. otherwise ver good app and works well most of the time.
