Repeated drawbacks include feature gaps vs web (notably CRM updates), a challenging mobile UX, and privacy concerns stemming from data persistence after reinstall. Some users also want video in offline mode and better iPad landscape support.

Pros

Excellent on-the-go access to Gong calls for listening, reviewing, and referencing account history while traveling.
Offline listening/downloads enable review without internet.
Useful for coaching and 1:1s, helping deliver feedback and action items on the go.
AI-driven summaries, insights, and email generation save time and improve understanding of conversations.
Playback controls and quick navigation make it easy to review conversations.

Cons

Mobile app lacks parity with the web: cannot update CRM data (e.g., Salesforce notes) from the app.
Poor UX/navigation on mobile, making it hard to accomplish tasks.
Privacy/data concerns: app can retain your account email after uninstalling/reinstalling.
Offline mode is audio-only; no video playback.
Limited landscape support on iPad (no landscape mode).

I love the Gong service but it seems like they only allow you to do copy and paste on the website because the app doesn’t allow the functionality on iOS a bit disappointing to not be able to update salesforce with notes from calls

when you delete the app on your phone, and then re-download it, it still has your old email saved in there. even if you're not logged in or have never logged in. this makes me distrust this app when you all allegedly delete it, they just keep it assigned to your device

We use Gong a ton and the web version is great. The app on iPhone is missing so many of the features we use on the web version. While Gong is a better tool than some of the competitors we have used, the app is a place where I prefer the competition.
