Features & Capabilities

The historic sites on the self walking tour are available with audio histories given. You can begin your tour from anywhere by touching the red pin nearest you. They are located on the tour page of the app.

The tour can be approached either as a four-six hour tour or split into two days. There are 40-60 historic sites in each city. You can also enjoy the history at lunch or the comfort of your home.

You should be able to hear the audios easily but if you need your buds for your device it would help if there is traffic in the area.

You can also get information such as hours or menus about some of our local businesses.

Enjoy your walk back through history and share with your friends.

User Reviews

Users generally find Historic Walking Tour easy to use and appreciate audio narration while they walk, supporting self-guided city exploration. However, repeated issues include audio playback failures, confusing pricing with paid stops or per-dot charges, and sometimes basic or inaccurate sight information. Several reviews call the content underwhelming compared with free maps or visitor-center materials. Customer support is also a recurring sore point. Overall, strong usability and immersion are tempered by reliability, pricing transparency, and content quality concerns.
Pros
  • Easy to use and navigate
  • Audio tours provide history while you walk
  • Enables self-guided exploration at your own pace
Cons
  • Audio playback problems / doesn't work consistently
  • Pricing and paywall concerns (per-dot charges, paid stops, bait-and-switch impressions)
  • Content quality issues (basic or sometimes inaccurate information; maps/free alternatives seem better)
  • Poor customer support (nonfunctional contact options; rude/unsatisfactory responses)

Using this app is really easy. Being able to walk around the city and listen to the history of the buildings and historic sites was awesome. I read some of the reviews from a few years back, and I can say from my experience, phone signals have gotten better because I had zero issues navigating and listening to the tours. Awesome app!!

Waste of download..you have to pay for every dot on the map.. just use Google maps to save some time and frustration

Besides the map, which can be replaced by a number of free ones, we didn’t find this helpful. The information on the sights is very basic and not always correct. Better information can be found for free. The audio just reads the written information. The audio on the introduction page gives an app overview though so there’s no way to listen to the introduction to the city (which would be helpful for the drive). The customer service contact form in the app doesn't work so there is no support. Would not buy again and wish I hadn’t.
