User Reviews

WalknTours is praised for self-paced, affordable, and engaging audio tours that let families explore cities at their own speed with minimal crowds. However, recurring issues include flaky app performance, onboarding friction, and inconsistent navigation between narration and maps. Reviewers also note limited content on some tours, language mismatches, and unclear starting locations. Overall, strengths are independence and value; drawbacks center on reliability, content breadth, and logistical details.
Pros
  • Self-paced, flexible tours that let you start/stop as you wish and avoid crowds.
  • Good value for money; an affordable alternative to in-person tours and great for families.
  • Engaging, well-produced narration that many users find informative.
  • Convenient and easy-to-use experience with clear descriptions and pacing.
  • Family-friendly with a mix of history, photo stops, and accessibility for different ages.
Cons
  • App reliability and signup/login issues across tours, including crashes and slow loading.
  • Confusing navigation between the spoken guide and the map; users want a clearer route or a physical map.
  • Content is uneven or limited on some tours (few stops, less depth on origins).
  • Language problems: some tours are delivered in non-English or mislabeled languages; mismatch with description.
  • Starting location/GPS details are unclear or not provided in confirmations, leading to delays.

My partner and I did the Jewish history guided audio walking tour in Mexico City, and it was great! Very clear directions, interesting history and cool sights. Very easy to use. Highly recommend this tour!

Took the Yale tour and it felt lacking in the information provided. Yale has so many beautiful old buildings that I wish there were more information about the architecture and what buildings are currently and historically used for. I’m giving it a three stars since I paid for the content and wasn’t happy with it
