User Reviews

Crimpd offers strong free access, a broad library of climbing workouts, and solid logging/analytics with helpful planning features, but users repeatedly call out issues with in-workout logging, audio cues interfering with music, vague rest/load guidance, content depth, and occasional UI quirks across devices.
Pros
  • Free access with substantial features (no mandatory subscription) and Crimpd+ adds value.
  • Wide variety of workouts and structured training plans for climbing.
  • Strong logging, tracking, and analytics to monitor progress.
  • Helpful scheduling and planning features to organize training weeks.
  • Clear workout descriptions and coaching content.
Cons
  • Logging is limited in-workout and hard to adjust sets/reps; rest timing details are unclear.
  • Audio cues (beeps) disrupt music playback; cannot disable or adjust volume easily.
  • Planning details are lacking or clunky (rest times, week structure, load management).
  • Content quality concerns (videos lacking technique, missing reps/sets definitions, shortcuts).
  • UI/device quirks (comment length limits, timer display issues on some devices).

Title says it all. The app is pretty good but major hiccups that are super annoying. For example you can’t log grades during workout. So on a workout where you climb 20 boulders you have to keep track of grades outside of the app. Same with sport/route climbing. It super annoying. Furthermore, you can’t change how may reps you do in a set for a workout in the workout. So, if you feel a little stronger and push out 12 reps instead of 10, you can’t change it till the very end. You also can’t put weight increases on finger workouts till the end. Overall the app is great for workout plans but lacks in the user interface, specifically with logging information in a workout. Please fix this, it’s kind of ridiculous

I liked the app and it’s fairly easy to use but recently got updated and the time sound cuts the music from other apps and there’s no way to disable, before it used to sound on top of the music
