However, reviews repeatedly show persistent issues: billing errors and disputed charges, unreliable locking and bike maintenance, inconsistent app performance, limited bike/station availability, and weak customer service, which together undermine the experience.

Recurring billing charges/ disputes with slow or no refunds.

Recent reviews

I rented a kayak but there was nowhere in the app to start the return. All the kayak lockers had issues. Some don’t lock at all. Customer service kept telling me to re-rent it so I could end it. Couldn’t re-rent, couldn’t end. If I get charged for extra time, I’m going to be soooo livid.

I rented a bike on the waterfront in Newburyport. When I returned the bike there were 3 slots open to return it to, but all 3 of the cables were broken. I had to wait an hour until someone rented one of the other bikes that had an unbroken cable. After I finally locked it and left, I started getting messages from Movaic saying that I needed to return the bike. It’s 24 hours later now and I’m still getting the messages. There’s no one to call to clear up the mess. I’ll never rent another bike through them.
