User Reviews

Bitwarden on iOS is valued for security, open-source trust, cross-device syncing, offline vault availability, and the free tier. Common drawbacks across reviews are iOS login problems and occasional synchronization issues between devices, with some reports of update-induced login failures.
Pros
  • Open-source, trusted security, and a generous free tier
  • Cross-device syncing across iOS, Android, and Windows with autofill and support for iPhone passkeys
  • Local vault copy/offline access plus data-protection features like breach checks
  • Widely regarded as reliable and strong value in password managers
  • Comprehensive feature set (password generator, breach checks, password health) without forcing premium
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication errors on iOS (e.g., 'An error has occurred' or 'password incorrect')
  • Sync delays or failures between desktop and mobile
  • Occasional update-related issues where the app stops accepting the master password

Really love this app, I use it every day. It integrates well into iOS, I prefer it over Passwords. Love that I can keep passwords, card info, and identification details for my family in one place. Great for generating passwords on the fly and easy to see historical passwords in case something gets messed up. I use the chrome extension all the time so I never need to remember any passwords.

Unfortunately the app sucks now. In true Apple form, the UX has become hostile to user agency and instead foists an opinionated view of what I’m “supposed” to do in every case while completely ignoring legitimate use cases.
