Features & Capabilities

Bitdefender SecurePass provides end-to-end encrypted vaults for passwords, cards, and notes with cross-device synchronization, so you can access your data anywhere. It uses a Master Password approach to keep everything centralized and private.

Beyond password storage, SecurePass offers a high-strength password generator, breach alerts, two-factor authentication, biometric unlock, auto-lock, secure notes, identities management, and secure sharing. It also supports easy import/export from other managers and safe autofill for online payments.

User Reviews

Users praise SecurePass for its sharing features and a notably improved UI over Password Manager, with several calling it quick and easy once set up and reasonably priced in bundles. However, recurring issues cloud the experience: persistent login problems, cloud-only access with no offline mode, Safari/browser integration glitches, migration/import hurdles from Password Manager, and general performance/connectivity slowdowns. These reliability and accessibility concerns are the most frequently mentioned alongside the occasional positive note on ease of use.
Pros
  • Password sharing with a spouse
  • Significantly improved UI compared to the old Password Manager
  • Quick and easy to use once set up
  • Good value when bundled or included in a Bitdefender package
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication problems: hangs at login, needs repeated sign-ins, and unstable sessions
  • Cloud-only storage requiring internet access; no reliable offline access for passwords
  • Safari/browser integration issues and problematic browser extension causing connectivity/login problems
  • Migration/transition difficulties from Password Manager to SecurePass and challenges importing data
  • Performance issues including slow responses and intermittent connectivity

Unlike the original password manager with Bitdefender Password Manager and then re-login a second time and then you can add a new site and password manually. This is a horrible ‘upgrade’. Edit: I just logged into another website. Secure Pass is open. Did it remember my credentials? Of course not! It’s a POS app. Use a different app.

Was looking at moving to SecurePass from 1Password. SecurePass is far behind in functionality and is very slow when not on a high speed internet connection. I travel a lot and not every location has high speed connectivity. Does not render well on an iPad. There are much better alternatives in the market.
