User Reviews

Most reviews describe Apple's Home app as unreliable and hard to use. The top recurring issues are repeated setup failures and Could not add errors when creating a home or pairing devices, frequent update prompts that block usage, and inconsistent or failing device pairing and connectivity with little actionable diagnostics. Users report devices dropping from the system, scenes failing, and blank screens. Security prompts—especially forced two-factor authentication—add friction. Overall, many users feel the UX is unfriendly and the product lacks reliable support, pushing some to abandon the ecosystem.

How on earth could an app go un-updated and be unresponsive for so long from such a big company. Hopefully now that there's a new CEO something more than iPhone colors will get improved every year.

I had to double check and make sure I didn’t get some fake 3rd party version of this app, but no it is actually this bad from Apple. Updated and reinstalled several times and still just hangs on the “Loading Accessories and Scenes” screen for hours. Totally useless, and it seems Apple has given up on Home.

I bought a new Schlage lock that is supposed to be compatible with the Apple home app. We after much difficulty and thats an understatement, I finally got it added. But the icon for the lock shows me there are new features that I can set up to add personal access codes. Not gonna happen. The feature fails to setup repeatedly no matter what I try. This is on Apples side. The Schlage app works fine
