Features & Capabilities

FGLair is a Chrome extension that enables remote control of Fujitsu General air conditioners from your mobile device. It supports essential functions such as ON/OFF, operation mode, temperature, fan speed, and airflow direction, plus real-time operation status and email alerts. Note: there are two app types, and compatibility depends on the model; consult the Fujitsu General Global FAQ for details.

Key features include two weekly timer sets, up to 14 time settings per week, and the ability to register up to 24 air conditioners and operate them from a single device - across multiple properties. Requires wireless LAN-enabled, broadband-connected units and a WPS router. See compatibility and setup information for details.

User Reviews

Most reviews show persistent login/authentication problems and unstable Wi‑Fi setup, with many users unable to register or keep the units connected. Essential features like current room temperature, usage history, alerts, and flexible scheduling are missing. The app is often described as clunky, slow, and unreliable, though after setup it can be responsive and support multi‑unit control. Some improvements have occurred, but many users are frustrated and note a migration to Airstage as a workaround.
Pros
  • Remote control of temperature and fan on iPhone/iPad
  • Responsive performance after successful unit registration
  • Multi-unit management (grouping/renaming) across devices
  • Real-time error logging/notifications for troubleshooting
Cons
  • Frequent login/logout/authentication issues; the app does not remember credentials and requires re-login
  • Unreliable Wi‑Fi pairing/setup; units disconnect and registration often fails
  • Missing essential features (no current room temperature display, no usage history, alerts, or robust scheduling; minimum temperature limit of 60)
  • Clunky, slow, and inconsistent UI/UX; signs of outdated software and occasional loss of unit names/groupings
  • Migration/deprecation to Airstage; no easy import path and limited migration support

Had the app for many years, about a year ago all of my units disconnected and now I cannot reconnect them you think from 52 billion dollar company we could get a lousy app that works.

Always have to relogin to the app and it doesn’t work with apples keychain hardly at all making it super annoying to use regularly. Clunky, slow, needs an update.

We’ve used this app for 2 years. It was very difficult to synch the mini split to Wi-Fi. This took several hours and many attempts. We finally called support and after a very long hold time the tech took about 30 minutes to get the 2 units synch’d to Wi-Fi. Despite having full signal (3 bars) on our cell phones, tablets, and computers in these rooms, the mini split frequently loses the Wi-Fi signal or the app does not respond. Nice idea but very poor performance!
