Metrolink’s iOS app shows strong core intent (ticket purchasing) but is hampered by a broken in-app purchase flow, redirects to external pages, and tickets not always issuing. Expiration rules are unclear and refunds are scarce. Users report a frustrating navigation experience, missing maps/schedules and key features (monthly passes, notifications, favorites). While a few note easy payments and clear route selection, overall reliability and UX require substantial improvement.

Recent reviews

The Metrolink app is very confusing and not user-friendly. It wasn’t clear how the tickets worked or when they could be used. I ended up buying a ticket that I couldn’t use because the app didn’t explain the restrictions well, so I completely wasted my money. The whole experience was frustrating, and the app made what should have been a simple process much more difficult than it needed to be. They really need to improve the app’s design and make ticket information much clearer.

I much prefer buying my ticket in the app rather than paper ticket or tap-on, tap-off system. I've ridden SB Line and Arrow extension to Redlands many times now; the price, speed, and destinations are all fantastic! Much faster and more reliable than bus too. I hope Metrolink keeps this app available. I love taking the SoCal Day Pass to LA on the weekends, and it's nice to buy the ticket in my phone without having to touch the ticket dispenser thing.
