User Reviews

Users like that MBTA mTicket helps locate lines, view schedules, and buy tickets in-app, and some find it reliable for travel. However, many reviews mention persistent problems: frequent glitches and crashes, unresponsive buttons, and navigation back to ticketing from schedules. Payment and login issues (card/Apple Pay failures and extra on-train fees) are common. Coverage is limited (not the subway) and some lines run poorly or are delayed. Overall, the app is usable at times but suffers from reliability, usability, and scope gaps that frustrate users.
Pros
  • Lets you find train lines and schedules and buy tickets in-app.
  • Helps you get a ticket when you need one.
  • Functional and fairly reliable for ferries and core MBTA services.
  • Useful for travelers as a general tool.
Cons
  • Ticket purchases often fail; connectivity errors and card/Apple Pay issues.
  • Glitches and unstable UI: buttons not loading, app crashes, back navigation problems.
  • Poor navigation/UX: hard to move between schedules, tickets, and wallet; back button disappears.
  • Limited coverage: not a subway app and zones/stations can be confusing; some lines unreliable.
  • Account/login and support issues: trouble resetting passwords/editing details; reports of extra on-train fees.

Most of these reviews are ancient and a lot complain about the train being on time. But this app does what it’s supposed to do. You can find any train line and its schedule easily and buy your tickets.
