User Reviews

Across reviews, users praise Indego's broad station network and generally easy access to bikes, with good value from passes. However, the app is plagued by login and account issues, and real-time dock availability often misleads riders. Common complaints include frequent billing problems (unexpected $500 charges, per-minute fees for e-bikes, confusion over passes), unreliable bike performance (dead batteries, malfunctioning e-bikes, heavy/old bikes), and weak customer support. In short: bikes and coverage are solid, but the app, pricing clarity, and maintenance/support need improvement.
Pros
  • High-quality bikes (including classic and e-bikes) with generally good availability.
  • Extensive network of stations with wide coverage, especially in center city.
  • Pricing options (guest pass and monthly unlimited classic) offering good value.
  • Overall convenience and ease of use in the city.
Cons
  • Frequent login/account issues; users can’t sign in, end rides, or report problems.
  • Dock and bike availability data is often inaccurate or not up to date; many docks are full.
  • Billing and pricing problems include unexpected charges (e.g., $500 fees), unclear e-bike per-minute charges, and double charges.
  • Bike maintenance and battery reliability issues (dead batteries, bikes that won’t start, broken components).
  • Customer support is slow or unhelpful with refunds or investigations.

First off they force you to use real number. I rarely do for privacy reasons then the force you to use credit card. Data harvesting nonsense when Apple Pay is right there. Only used because a friend insisted but I’ll be bringing my own bikes from now on.and electric bikes ARENT ELECTRIC. RIP off. YOU HAVE TO PETAL. When you go to ask why membership is charged for a single ride customer reps are combative and already ready to dispute you. Scammers.

Indeho offers no single-ride option, only pricey 1/2 and full day. But buried in the first d print is the fact that e-bikes (the only kind they have at every dock I found in downtown Philly are an EXTRA .30/*MINUTE*. So if you want to go anywhere, be ready to get charged a buck to wait at a traffic light. I never thought I’d pine for the DC Limebikes, but they’re a bargain compared to this nonsense. That said, once I realized they were actually underwritten by a massive and rapacious health care conglomerate, it does makes their punitive pricing and lousy options make a ton of sense. Anyway, good news for the subway, I guess? No bike rides in Philly for me!

Wouldn’t let me end my ride and then when i was trying to report the issue the app wouldn’t allow me to send a report.
