User Reviews
Pros
- Full-featured iOS remote-control capabilities that mirror the PC/Mac Take Control client (chat, system controls, registry edits, and forced reboots).
- Reliable connectivity with automatic reconnection after reboot, which is valuable for on-the-go IT support.
- Mobile-optimized, compact UI with a pull-down quick-access keyboard that doesn't waste screen space.
- Strong value for MSPs/IT pros on the go, enabling remote support from anywhere.
- Usable on iPhone with touch/trackpad-like navigation and screen-zoom support.
Cons
- Keyboard input limitations and mappings (inability to type certain characters like @; Windows keyboard support missing; long host names not fully visible).
- Lack of precise navigation controls (no mouse pointer; on-screen toolbar can obscure content; double-tap not working).
- Login/authentication problems and occasional crashes when accessing systems (login stalls; 2FA issues; crashes).
- Usability on small screens (app feels cramped or not functional on small devices; better on tablets).
- Perceived lack of updates/maintenance and slow improvements (issues persist with infrequent updates).

The Take Control console app for iOS works pretty well now as of August 5th, 2023.
I appreciate the pull-down quick access keyboard functionality from the top. It’s implemented in a way that doesn’t take up much screen real estate.
It connects to my client system and gives me quite a robust set of tooling and it reconnects on reboot. What’s more is that it’s the first mobile remote takeover app that I can stomach.
This is awesome for MSPs or IT pros on the go. I believe this would be best experienced on a large format tablet given the nature of the app.
Keep up the great work. Your almost at 5 stars for me personally. That is many miles ahead of where the app started development.

How is it that we pay Solarwinds thousands per month and they give us this awkward app that doesn’t allow side movement? It’s useless and rarely updated. I’ve complained multiple times about it and they’ve done nothing to resolve the issues. We all need to use our phone to remotely connect and this app makes it impossible. Toting a laptop is required if you subscribe to NAble or Take Control. Look at other solutions if you want convenience. This is by far the worst remote control app available and we’ve used them all over the last decade.

Cannot try or use this app, tried from different phones with the same result. I type my credentials and prompts for my 2FA code in which once typed in and click on login, it will attempt to log in and stop.
