Overview

Features & Capabilities

TeamViewer Remote Control for iPhone and iPad provides secure, full-featured remote access to desktops from anywhere. You can remotely control a computer, view its screen with high-quality video, transfer files both ways, and chat in real time during a session. It supports unattended devices, servers, digital signage, and POS systems, plus multi-monitor setups and Wake-On-LAN.

Beyond basic control, AR-enabled Assist AR offers live, visual guidance by placing 3D markers in the user’s environment. The app works across operating systems, uses 256-bit AES encryption, traverses firewalls and proxies, and allows quick setup with QuickSupport and optional camera or microphone permissions.

User Reviews

Users praise remote access and cross-region collaboration, but complain about sign-in failures, unstable connections, and pricing changes. UI and documentation gaps plus occasional peripheral issues also surface. Overall the app remains valuable when it works, especially for remote help and work across locations, but reliability and pricing frustration temper enthusiasm.
Pros
  • Enables remote PC control from iPhone/iPad, allowing mobile access to a desktop.
  • Helpful for cross-region teamwork and remote support.
  • Long-standing, trusted remote-access tool with many years of use.
  • Useful for helping family/friends remotely and troubleshooting.
  • Generally reliable when properly configured.
Cons
  • Frequent sign-in/login problems and sessions being kicked out.
  • Unreliable connections with drops and noticeable lag.
  • Pricing concerns, including a switch from perpetual licenses to subscriptions.
  • UI/UX and documentation issues, including hard-to-read controls and annoying dialogs.
  • Occasional peripheral compatibility problems (e.g., Bluetooth mouse).

I rarely use TV, and only use it for personal reasons. My account has been repeatedly flagged as commercial use, which blocks me from using the app. Looking online, there are thousands of users with the same issue. TV has removed any options for free users to submit a ticket or contact them in any way. Why would I want to upgrade to a paid account when the free account is such a bad experience?
