Albert: Budgeting and Banking

Organize. Budget. Save.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Albert: Budgeting and Banking is an all-in-one money app that lets you budget, save, spend, and invest in one place. It includes online banking features (early direct deposits and cash back), automatic saving, and the ability to invest in stocks, ETFs, and managed portfolios. A subscription is required with a 30-day trial. 24/7 identity monitoring and real-time alerts help protect your money.

You can view all accounts in one dashboard, track expenses and recurring bills, identify underused subscriptions to negotiate lower costs, and open a high-yield savings account. Albert Genius AI provides smart insights and guidance, but it’s important to remember that Genius may make mistakes and investments involve risk. Albert is not a bank; banking services are provided by Stride Bank, N.A., and debit cards are issued under license.

User Reviews

User reviews show Albert as easy to use and helpful for budgeting, quick cash, and credit-building. However, frequent complaints focus on billing and cancellation: difficulty canceling, post-cancellation charges, and alleged unauthorized payments. Additional concerns include poor customer support, difficulty removing bank data, and occasional app/bank connectivity issues. The app can deliver value when it works, but widespread billing, privacy, and support problems undermine trust for many users.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use budgeting and banking interface with straightforward features, including easy repayment-date adjustments.
  • Quick access to cash and borrowing when money is tight, helping in emergencies.
  • Tools for budgeting and credit-building that users find valuable and supportive of financial goals.
  • Positive real-world usefulness and reliability when the service functions as intended.
Cons
  • Cancellation is extremely difficult or nearly impossible, with multiple hoops and even upgrades required to access features.
  • Ongoing or post-cancellation charges and potential unauthorized billing or alleged funds being taken.
  • Poor customer support, limited contact options (no phone support) and frequent unresponsiveness.
  • Inability to remove bank details or data, raising privacy concerns and perceived data access after cancellation.
  • Technical issues and bank-connectivity problems that cause recurring disconnects and payment timing issues.

I can’t tell you how many times this app has charged me $20+ at random times, I’ve never wanted a subscription, it would make sense if I was being charged monthly, but I get charged at random times, and the being told NO REFUNDS I feel is complete bs as I never authorized Albert to take any money in the first place

They keep stealing money from me without my permission and I cannot get it back. They just took 6 yesterday and then $20 today and won’t let me have it back. I am furious.
