User reviews

Export Emails to Sheets by cloudHQ is praised for efficiently exporting and organizing email data and attachments into Google Sheets with a user-friendly interface, aiding business financial and data tracking. However, multiple users raise concerns about aggressive pricing, limited free usage, excessive permission requests that threaten data security, and occasional functionality issues. There's also frustration regarding unclear pricing and restrictive limits, making it less appealing for small businesses or individuals.
Pros
  • Effectively exports and organizes email data and attachments into Google Sheets, streamlining data management.
  • Helpful for businesses in tracking invoices, receipts, shipping reports, and financial data via email parsing.
  • User-friendly interface with seamless integration, saving time and simplifying inbox management.
  • Ability to organize exported sheets and PDFs into folders for easy sharing and collaboration.
Cons
  • Extremely high pricing with expensive subscription plans, some reports mention $20 to $40+ per month, which is steep for small businesses.
  • Free version has strict limitations, including very low email export limits (like 30-71 emails), forcing users to pay.
  • The extension requests excessive and potentially dangerous permissions, including permission to delete all emails and Google Drive files, raising privacy and security concerns.
  • Some users experience issues with processes stalling, jobs pausing without delivering results, or the tool simply not working as expected.
  • Poor expectation management around pricing and free usage limits; users feel misled about costs and limitations.

Ridiculous. Grant permission for it to "permanently delete all your email" there? What? Are you crazy??? Grant permission for it to "delete all of your Google Drive files" there? What? Are you double-crazy?? So dumb. A lot of apps/extensions do the same thing. All that is needed is "perms to read email" and "perms to create a new google sheet" and that's it... BUT there is no option for such. No way Jose. This is the perms set it asks to have... Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail. It's about cleaning up email. I was trying it out and first attempt it said I went over the limit for the free version and prompted to buy it... FOR $20/month!?!? Nope.

Very cool - I especially love the attachment manager feature—it organizes all your attachments neatly in a spreadsheet, making them easy to access and manage. Just a heads-up: this is not a free extension.
