Features & Capabilities

Flag Cookies is a powerful Chrome extension designed for advanced users to manage and control browser cookies and storage data with precision. It enables users to flag and set rules for cookies to be deleted or protected automatically, supporting modes like Global, Auto Flag, and Profile to customize cookie management per website or session.

Key features include cookie detection, automatic deletion or protection based on user-defined rules, profile switching to toggle between login states, and support for Firefox Multi-Account-Containers. User Reviews

The add-on generally works as advertised and aids cookie-related tasks, including exporting cookies. However, a dominant recurring issue is excessive memory usage (memory leaks), sometimes accompanied by high CPU use, particularly with many tabs or long sessions. This memory problem is the most consistently mentioned drawback across reviews.
Pros
  • Does what it claims and works as advertised
  • Useful for cookie-related tasks, including exporting cookies to clipboard in JSON (e.g., for login sessions)
Cons
  • High memory usage / memory leaks, especially with many tabs or Reddit sessions
Recent reviews
The extension works, but currently leaks memory on Reddit tabs like there's no tomorrow.

This extension does what it says it does, and if you use it for a one-time use and then remove it no issue. The issue is that if you decide to keep the extension it will use up all of your memory! It has some sort of leak or lack of optimization that causes it to slow my 32GB DDR5 machine to a crawl. Without this extension only 6GB of use, with this extension all of it can be used!

This extension was really useful! I had to get cookies for JDownloader lots of times and it worked perfectly. The only problem I've noticed is that the RAM usage goes up the roof with it enabled. Six Reddit tabs open were using 10GB, I don't know if that is a memory leak or just how it works, but I'd advise everyone to leave it disabled. It hasn't been updated since January, perhaps something changed and broke it?
