Cookie Manager Chrome Extension

Cookie Manager is a powerful browser extension designed for users who prioritize privacy and security. It enables you to efficiently view, edit, delete, and search for cookies right from your browser. The extension supports features such as multiple cookie jars including private browsing and container tabs, allowing you to manage cookies from different contexts with ease.

Key capabilities include querying cookies by URL, domain, path, content, and security flags; adding and editing cookies; importing and exporting cookies in JSON and Netscape formats for backup or use with tools like curl; and whitelisting essential cookies. Furthermore, Cookie Manager is compatible with Firefox mobile (Fenix) and the TOR Browser, supporting advanced cookie partitioning techniques like Total Cookie Protection. Activate the extension when needed for easy cookie management and disable it afterward to maintain optimal performance.

User Reviews

Users praise the add-on’s effectiveness at finding, editing, and deleting cookies (including on Firefox for Android) and call it generally useful. Recurring complaints focus on compatibility with recent Firefox releases (freezes or nonfunctional), incomplete cookie removal requiring Firefox’s Manage Data, and some confusing UI/usability regressions (removed quick-search feature and awkward button selector).
Pros
  • Effectively finds and manages cookies that other tools or Firefox may miss
  • Allows per-site cookie deletion and editing (fine-grained control)
  • Confirmed to work on Firefox for Android (Fenix) by multiple users
  • Generally considered useful and simple to use by several reviewers
Cons
  • Compatibility problems with recent Firefox versions—some users report it doesn't work or causes freezes/high CPU
  • Does not always remove all cookies or cookie-like traces; users still need Firefox's Manage Data to finish cleanup
  • Interface/usability issues for some users (confusing button selector, considered unusable for non-technical users)
  • Removal of formerly useful features (e.g., quick "set to NOW" search) noted as a regression

Strange, it doesn't work anymore. It makes my Firefox freeze completely (99% CPU)

The general concept of listing and white listing cookies is excellent and I really appreciate this addon. But the implementation of selecting which buttons to display (in the bottom right) is unusual and confusing, especially as the selection dots aren't displayed properly. I recommend just displaying two rows of buttons at the bottom and removing the button selector system.
