User Reviews
Pros
- Improves privacy by automatically deleting cookies and clearing cache, reducing tracking.
- Automatically deletes cookies from closed tabs and supports whitelists and containers for selective retention.
- Reduces manual cookie cleanup and is easy to manage with clear settings.
- Valued by users as essential for anonymity and greater cookie control.
Cons
- No longer reliable: cookies are not always deleted as advertised.
- Abandoned/untended project with reports of stale GitHub issues and no support.
- UI is confusing and over-engineered, making setup hard.
- Not reliably purge non-whitelisted cookies; some cookies linger after timeouts or restarts.
- Some features depend on Firefox flags or hard-to-disable container tabs.

Does what it says and also clears out local storage (sometimes websites use in lieu of cookies) for all websites by default. Setting up per-site/domain exceptions is a two-click process. You can turn off the cleanup notifications if they become annoying.

Risk impact

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Cookie AutoDelete requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
