The mental health of school-aged children in Hong Kong is receiving increasing attention, with emotional management becoming a crucial issue. Existing digital mental health programs primarily focus on adolescents, but primary school students already face challenges such as interpersonal relationships, feelings of inadequacy, and academic pressure. Early development of emotional intelligence can serve as a "protective shield" for their future mental well-being.

Hong Kong Shue Yan University, with a donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, has launched the "Jockey Club Children's Mental Health Programme" to promote social-emotional learning for primary school students. This program combines physical interactive groups, gamification, and home-school collaboration, connecting parents and teachers to support the development of primary school students' social-emotional skills. The online platform provides multimedia teaching resources, social-emotional learning video games, and online counseling services; offline activities, lectures, and creative competitions help primary school students identify, express, manage, and utilize their emotions.
