Eagle Firefox

Eagle

To activate, type 'e' followed by space into the Omnibox. Then enter your term and press enter to submit.

Features & Capabilities

Eagle is a Firefox WebExtension that enables powerful full-text searches of your browsing history. Activate it by typing 'e' followed by a space in the omnibox, then enter your search terms to find previously visited websites containing those keywords.

Eagle indexes all text from the pages you visit, allowing detailed queries including date ranges (before: and after:), exact phrases using quotes, and exclusions with the minus sign. All your history data is stored locally for privacy, and you can manage which sites are indexed or blacklist pages using an intuitive preferences page or toolbar popup. Note that it works only on sites that allow content scripts and does not search view-source code.

Perfect for users who want fast, flexible, and private access to their browsing archive directly from the browser, Eagle streamlines the rediscovery of important information buried in your history.

Is Eagle Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Eagle requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
