User reviews

Users appreciate that the add-on reliably stops autoplay videos on many sites where others fail, offering a helpful red frame indicator. However, several users desire a whitelist feature to enable autoplay on preferred sites and find the red frame distracting without a toggle option. The add-on also struggles with some video players and occasionally allows multiple videos to play after clicking. Overall, it is praised for its effectiveness despite these limitations.
Pros
  • Effectively blocks autoplay videos on many websites where other extensions fail.
  • Provides a clear visual indicator (red frame) around videos prevented from autoplaying.
  • Easy to use and generally reliable in stopping unwanted video playback.
Cons
  • Lacks a whitelist feature to allow autoplay on certain trusted sites.
  • The red frame indicator is sometimes seen as intrusive and cannot be disabled.
  • Does not work with certain video players (e.g., Brightcove) and on some websites like Pixiv.
  • Sometimes results in multiple videos playing simultaneously after clicking.

Giving 5-stars because I got a nice red square around IMDB's (muted, autoplaying) videos. That's why I installed this. I hope IMDB isn't still downloading video bits in the background. There are a few ways to test this in Linux. Will do this soon (I hope) and update this review.

Its good, but its missing the most important "whitelist" feature... therefore for me it completely loses its usefulness, moreover the red frame should be --optional-- since on some websites it is shown incorrectly on pages
