Offline tasting journal for wine & coffee. Score it, tag it, track your palate
A tasting journal for people who drink attentively.
CupNotesCellar is a private notebook for the wines and coffees you actually put in a glass. Log what it was, who made it, where it came from and what you paid, score it on five palate axes, pick the flavours you genuinely found, and write the note you would otherwise have forgotten by the weekend.
Everything stays on your phone. No account, no sign-in, no network.
TWO CELLARS, ONE JOURNAL
Wine and coffee are scored on the axes that actually matter to each. Wine: body, acidity, tannin, sweetness, finish. Coffee: body, acidity, sweetness, bitterness, aftertaste. Switch sides with one tap and the whole form — including the method list and flavour vocabulary — follows.
A PALATE RADAR, NOT A STAR COUNT
Every entry draws a five-axis radar so you can see the shape of what you tasted at a glance. Average those shapes across your library and you get something more useful still: a picture of your own palate, built from your own notes rather than someone else's scale.
HALF STARS, BECAUSE TASTINGS LAND IN BETWEEN
Tap the left half of a star for a half score, the right half for a whole one. Five stars in ten steps.
FORTY FLAVOUR DESCRIPTORS
Grouped into families — fruit, floral, sweet, cocoa, nutty, spice, wood, earth, green, savoury — and filtered to whichever side of the cellar you are logging. The ones you reach for most rise to the top of the vocabulary chart.
CHARTS THAT COME FROM YOUR OWN ENTRIES
* A twelve-week logging grid you can tap to jump straight to that day's tasting
* A rating trend line across your last twelve scores
* Entries per month, so you can see when you were paying attention
* A flavour vocabulary breakdown
* Palate averages for wine and coffee side by side
A REFERENCE LIBRARY THAT SHIPS WITH THE APP
Twenty-two grape varieties and fourteen coffee origins, each with the region, an honest description and the descriptors you would expect to find. Sixteen serving and brew methods with real numbers — ratios, temperatures, decant times. Sixteen craft notes on how to taste well. All of it bundled, all of it available with the phone offline.
MILESTONES WORTH REACHING
Twelve of them, all derived from the journal itself: your first entry, both cellars covered, five origins, twelve distinct descriptors, a seven-day streak, a perfect score, a properly long note. Nothing to claim and nothing to buy.
SEARCH AND FILTER
Search across labels, producers, origins, methods, notes and flavour tags at once. Filter by kind or by favourites, and sort by date, rating, price or name.
