SemafOrigen

SemafOrigen tells you where your purchase comes from, with a traffic light system that's easy to understand at a glance. Just point your camera at the barcode and you're done.

🔴 RED — The product originates from one of the countries you've selected to monitor.

🟡 AMBER — Not enough information to confirm.

🟢 GREEN — Spanish product

Buying local products supports agriculture, industry, and jobs in our country. But to choose them, you need to know where each item comes from, and that information is written in small print on the back of the packaging, sometimes in four languages. SemafOrigen reads it for you.

HOW IT WORKS
Scan the barcode and get an instant response. If the product's origin is unknown, take a photo of the label: the app reads the text on your phone and finds the country of origin or manufacturing. Your scan is saved, so anyone who scans that product later will have the information.

• No registration, no accounts, no ads.

• Label photos stay on your phone.

• You choose which fourteen countries you want to monitor, and you can change it whenever you want.

• You can report an error at any time.

WHAT IT ISN'T
SemafOrigen doesn't target companies or call for boycotts. It reports the country of origin of all products equally, using their flag and the information provided by manufacturers and stores. This information is already on the packaging; here it's just easier to read.

AN HONEST WARNING
The origin of a product can change from batch to batch, especially with fresh fruits and vegetables. When this happens, the app will tell you instead of taking a risk. And when it's unsure, it will say so too: "I don't know" is preferable to fabricated information.
