On Guard

On Guard is real-time defense against dirty content, running entirely on your device.

Most tools do too little too late. On Guard works differently. A small, on-device model watches for explicit and sexualized content as it appears and steps in at the moment it matters.

Detect. On-device detection flags explicit and sexualized content in real time, across apps and the web. Detection runs entirely on your device, never in the cloud.

Redirect. When something risky loads, On Guard interrupts and offers a one-tap path to something better. No lecture. No shame.

Real accountability. For explicit content, a discreet text goes to an ally you choose. No images. No screen content. Just a nudge for real-world support. Opt-in, always.

Accessibility Service disclosure

On Guard uses Android's AccessibilityService API. This is what powers the core feature of the app: real-time, on-device defense against explicit content. On Guard is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities, and it does not claim to be.

With your consent, the AccessibilityService lets On Guard:

Read your screen. On Guard takes screenshots of the screen and reads the web address in your browser's address bar, plus the name of the app you are using. An on-device model checks that content for explicit and sexualized imagery.

Act on your screen. When explicit content is found, On Guard steps in for you. It redirects your browser off the site by entering a block page in the address bar or closing the tab. If you tap "Move on," it sends your browser tab to On Guard's page of better choices, or dismisses the app you are in from your recent apps, returns you to your home screen, and opens that page in your browser.

How this data is used: detection runs entirely on your phone, in memory. Screenshots are discarded right after they are checked. They are never saved, uploaded, sold, or shared. No browsing history is tracked or stored. When On Guard redirects you, the flagged site's address appears in the block page's web address so the page can load; it is not stored or linked to your account. If you push past a warning, the ally you chose gets a short text saying that it happened, never what it was.

You turn this on yourself, and you can turn it off any time in Android Settings, under Accessibility.

Foreground service disclosure

On Guard runs a foreground service so detection stays active while you use other apps. A persistent notification shows you when defense is running.
