AlReader is a feature-rich Chrome extension designed for comfortable reading of fiction books in numerous formats including fb2, epub (DRM-free), mobi, doc, docx, txt, and more. It supports archives (ZIP, GZ), various encoding sets, and offers text-to-speech functionality with call interruption support. Users can access network libraries via OPDS, manage a local library with sorting by authors, genres, and publication years.

The extension provides advanced customization including multiple profiles with independent font, color, brightness, and gamma settings, one- and two-page views automatically adapting in landscape, and configurable display styles for headings and citations. It features searching, autoscroll, 3D paging animations, footnote display, and precise text alignment with hyphenation in 20 languages. Navigation is easy with options like tapping zones, gestures, bookmarks, and table of contents support. The interface supports multiple languages and external dictionaries, while also adapting for e-ink screens and allowing syncing of reading positions across devices.
