Sunaloom: Time Away

Read a chapter. Share a meal. Leave room for nothing at all. Sunaloom is a small ritual for returning to life beyond the screen.

Choose a pause, press Put my phone away, then manually lock your phone. There is no countdown to watch and no completion notification calling you back. Return when you choose.

A BONSAI SHAPED BY SCREEN SLEEP
On Android 9 and later, optional Usage Access lets Sunaloom read OS interactive and non-interactive screen events. Save the measured non-interactive time and let it shape one shimpaku bonsai. Seconds accumulate, including time beyond your chosen duration. Viewing the app, ordinary self-reports and unknown intervals do not create growth. A short optional reveal settles into stillness. No watering, withering, leaderboard, streak penalty or reward for checking in. Reduce Motion is supported.

OPTIONAL ONE-TIME STUDIO PURCHASE
Save up to 12 personal rituals, use Moss, Snow and Evening settings, and export 2400 x 3000 images or 1290 x 2796 wallpapers. No subscription or automatic renewal. The store shows the price before confirmation. Restore with the same store account. Apple and Google purchases are separate; web access and cross-store sync are not included. Studio never accelerates growth.

HONEST DEVICE RECORDS
Screen sleep means OS non-interactive state, which can include always-on display. A notification may wake the screen. This cannot prove physical non-contact or attention. Records must be retrieved within 24 hours; missing history, detected restarts, clock changes and permission changes remain unavailable. Core pauses work without permission, but Android growth requires usable OS records. Sunaloom does not block apps or force a device lock.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No app account, ads or social feed. Intentions, reflections and bonsai data stay on your device. Device records are not sent to AWS or included in shared art. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier and transaction information to verify optional Studio access. Exported art omits personal names, intentions and device records. Settings offers local erasure and Studio offers purchase support.
